Vickie Andersen

Victoria Lynn "Vickie" Andersen was born in Richland to Leon Francis and Marion Irene Russell Andersen on March 10, 1949.

She graduated with the Class of 1967 from Richland's Columbia High School.

While living in Seattle where she was a bartender, she met her future husband, Keith Simmons. They were married on August 18, 1980.

She and Keith moved to Georgia and lived there from 1980-1996. They were blessed with the birth of their first set of twins, Jennifer Lynne and Tara Michelle, in 1980. Their second set of twins, Caleb Eli and Hannah Elizabeth, were born in 1986.

The family moved to Alaska in 1996.

In 1997, Vickie was involved in a tragic car accident from which she never really recovered. She suffered from severe pain the rest of her life due to the injuries from the accident.

Even so, Vickie was a Christian who loved and served her Lord. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She passed away in Big Lake, AK on August 16, 2023.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Keith; their children: Jennifer, Tara, Caleb and Hannah; and their grandchildren: Stephen, Ava, Brynn, Natalie, Matthew and Jace. She is also survived by her brother, John.

She was preceded in death by her father who passed away from work-related cancer January 4, 1970, when Vickie was 16. Her mother passed away from M.S. on December 16, 1980. Her sister, Lynda ('64), passed away July 1, 1994; and her brother, David, passed away March 16, 2017.
