Written by Susan for the 40-year Class Reunion Booklet in 2007:

"I moved to Salt Lake City in 1972 and finished my education at the University of Utah in the field of Finance and Accounting. I have worked in the field of accounting even since I graduated. I currently work for a company based out of Canada which does drilling all over the United States. They do test drilling for just about anything in the ground and under water.

I have no real plans for retirement at this time. For now I enjoy my job and will think about retirement at some other time; I'm sure in the near future.

I have done some traveling outside of the United States in my short life; I have been to Italy, England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, Mexico and Canada. Inside the United States I have been from Alaska to Hawaii and many states in between.

This a point of interest I'm sure most of us were not aware of when we were growing up in Richland many years ago. I was adopted as an infant, and a few years ago I decided to try and find my birth mother. The laws have changed over the years, and now if you go through an intermediate to do the researching for you, the sealed records with the courts can be opened. When the intermediate tried to have the court records opened, she was informed Richland was considered a secured area, and she must get the permission of the United States government to have any sealed records opened. I guess at the time we were growing up I knew we lived in an area governed somewhat by the government, but never to the extent that we could be considered top secret."

NOTE: Susan attended Marcus Whitman Elementary School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of '67 from Richland's Columbia High School. She is survived by her brother, Richard Button ('66).

Bomber Memorial put together by Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66).
