Dennis Eugene Huesties died January 29, 1998 at the Veterans Hospital in Portland, OR. He was born May 31, 1949 in Pasco.

Dennis attended Lewis and Clark Elementary School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1967 from Richland's Columbia High School on June 8, 1967.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he received the Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Due to injuries received in Vietnam he retired from the U. S. Army.

Dennis was a kind and giving husband, father and friend. He had a great willingness to help others. He became a Little League Umpire and later worked as a Volunteer Fire Fighter First Responder for Cowlitz County, Fire District Number 7.

His passion was to be able to hunt and fish. He loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Huesties of Ariel, WA; daughter Lori and husband Kevin Byrnes and granddaughter Kenya Lee Byrnes of Woodland, WA; daughter Keri Huesties and granddaughter Kyla Dennise Huesties of Ariel, WA; and son Nicholas Huesties of Ariel, WA. He is also survived by his parents Jess and Irene Huesties of Richland; sister Barbara Huesties ('61) of Seattle; sister Darlene Huesties Bern ('64) of Seattle; brother Jess ('66) and wife Isun Huesties of Centralia, WA; brother Leonard ('70) and wife Debbie Huesties of Finley; sister Merle Huesties Lowry ('72) of Sultan, WA; daughter Carolyn Zorich of Spokane; his aunt Edith Huesties of Kennewick; aunt Juanita Swanson of Yakima; aunt Vesta Nelson of Yakima; uncle Larry and aunt Joyce Bliss of Richland; aunt Dolly Bliss of Toppenish; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were all special to him.

A Memorial Service was held at 2pm on Saturday, February 7, 1998 at Pleasantview Community Church in Ariel, WA.
