"Anold (Clifford) Byron Lane passed away February 10, 2017 at his home in Maryville, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents Bernard Brook Lane and Ina Melese (Layton) Lane. Cliff is survived by his brother Stuart O. Lane ('60) of Lakewood, WA, his sister Rita V. (Lane) Lanier ('71) of Lakebay, WA and by his son Anom Duy Lane of Chicago, IL.

After high school, Cliff attended the University of Washington and Western Washington University. It was during his time at WWU he was introduced to astrology. Interested in astronomy since junior high, Cliff already knew the names of the constellations and many stars. He was fascinated by astrology, studied it in depth, and became a practicing astrologer and metaphysical teacher. He had a program on a nationwide talk radio station and is a published author, Anold Lane, with three astrology books and two others which can be found on Amazon.

Anold also was a professional musician, being an accomplished clarinet player. He held a BA in music and performed with symphonies in various cities where he lived.

Anold was an avid hiker, hiking sections of the Pacific Crest Trail and many trails in the Rockies, Sierras, Cascades, Olympics and in Hawaii. His book My Life as an Astrologer speaks to several of his hiking experiences.

In his words, 'My times of hiking and camping opened my awareness to the natural rhythms happening around me.....My study of astrology is a lifelong endeavor... with my feet firmly planted on the ground and my eyes often looking up to behold the heavens'."

Cliff/Anold was born May 10, 1949. He attended school at Jefferson Elementary School , Chief Jo Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1967 from Richland's Columbia High School.
