Seeptember 27, 1949 - June 28, 2024

Jeanne Lewis

Longtime Colorado resident Jeanne (Lewis) Pantone passed away on June 28, 2024, at the age of 74. A service was held on July 2 at Feldman Mortuary, with interment at Golden Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Katie Mizrahi. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Born September 27, 1949 in Richland, Ms. (Lewis) Pantone graduated with the Class of 1967 from Richland's Columbia High School, attended the University of Washington and earned a PhD in psychology from Ohio State.

After graduation, Ms. Pantone moved to Denver to begin her career at Children’s Hospital and spent the latter part of her career at Kaiser Permanente.

In 1983, Ms. Pantone married Owen Chariton in Breckenridge. They remained a couple until Ms. Pantone’s passing.

“Her entire life was like one extended tikkun olam project,” said Mr. Chariton. “In her professional career she helped people. When she retired, she immediately sought out multiple volunteer opportunities.

“One was a program called Reading Partners in which she worked one on one with young children to help them get up to grade level in their reading. She volunteered at Benefits in Action, which helped senior citizens learn about and connect with benefits for which they were eligible.

“She had an incredibly wide and diverse circle of friends, and a large and loving extended family. Her interests ran the gamut from traveling the world to growing roses in her front yard and many more.”

Survivors are Ms. Pantone’s husband, Owen Chariton; daughter, Rachel Chariton; sister, Robin ('70) (Chris) O’Hearn; and brother, Mitch (HHS) (Lisa) Lewis.
