Geraldine Mae Shields was born in Richland on February 25, 1949 to George Earl Shields ^Sr and Geraldine Shields. Geri passed away at the age of 72 on December 15, 2021 in Texas.

Geri graduated with the Class of 1967 from Richland's Columbia High School.

She married Patrick J. Prentice in Pasco on Janury 11, 1973.

Geri had one brother and five sisters: Patricia Elaine Shields Parchen who was born March 29, 1942 and passed away on July 26, 2003; George Earl Shields ^Jr who was born March 30, 1944 and passed away on November 14, 1996; Donna Louise Shields ('66 honorary); Linda Kay Shields; Billie Jean Shields and Deborah Ann Shields.

Geri's dad passed away at the age of 58 in 1976 in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. Her mother passed away at the age of 50 in 1974 in Leavenworth, Washington.
