DIANA MARIE STEMEN SHIELDS ~ Class of 1967
June 9, 1949 - September 20, 2011



Diana Marie Stemen was born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hebert Stemen on June 9, 1949.

She attended Jefferson Elementary School, Chief Jo Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1967 from Richland's Columbia High School. Diana also attended Columbia Basin College.

Her brother is Wayne Stemen ('67).

Diana married Kenneth Arthur Shields of Othello in Richland on June 19, 1971. Kenneth was a graduate of Othello High School and Columbia Basin College. At the time of their wedding, Kenneth was in his senior year at Washington State University studying for his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Diana and Kenneth lived in Othello.

She served as an Airman First Class in the U. S. Air Force and was stationed in Vietnam.

Diana passed away on September 20, 2011, at the age of 62 and is buried at the San Joaquin Valley national Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.

She is preceded in death by her father who was born November 20, 1917, in Ohio, and who passed away at the age of 55 on August 14, 1973. Her father had served as a SFC in the U. S. Army in World War II in Korea. He was buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
