Leemon “Dale” Thomas ^Jr, age 62, of New Castle, IN passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at his home in New Castle.

He was born December 9, 1948, in Richland, a son of Leemon Dale Thomas ^Sr and Kathleen Huddle Thomas. Most everyone knew him as Dale.

Dale graduated with the Class of 1967 from Richland's Columbia High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served one and a half tours in Vietnam and one year on the Ice in Antarctica, where he was a member of the 300 Club and a life-time member of the N.R.A.

Dale was a former employee of the city of Lacy in Washington. Most currently he was an employee of the city of New Castle, IN, where he worked at South Mound Cemetery.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Candy L. Thomas of New Castle, whom he married in June of 2005; his mother, Kathleen Thomas of Washington; one son, Leemon Dale Thomas ^III of Washington; one step son, Tony Brandenburg of New Castle; one sister, Dawn Swanson of Washington; one niece, Wendy (Shawn) Pipple of Washington; and several friends; Mike, Scott, Steve, and Brownie.

Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services handled the arrangements.

Macer-Hall Funeral Directors; Sam Hall, Gary Hall and Mike Ragan were honored to conduct the services for Dale.
